Light Novel: Volume 21 Episode 14
Manhwa: N/A

“So, did he successfully leave?”

“It seems so.”

“I see.”

Do Yeonsan nodded his head at Pyo-wol’s answer.

He had a look on his face as if saying ‘I knew it would be so’.

It was the same for Eunyo and Nam Shin-woo.

The three of them were not surprised to hear that Chae Mu-ok had rescued Ko Mu-jin and left for the Silver Lotus Society.

They knew that Chae Mu-ok would leave at some point.

However, the fact that he rescued Ko Mu-jin was unexpected.

The three also heard the explosion outside, but they forced themselves to sleep, fearing to get involved in the troublesome matter.

They were not newcomers to Jianghu like Chae Mu-ok, nor did they have the temperament to blindly intervene in unjust matters just out of righteousness.

Although it was unfortunate that they were not able to bid farewell to Chae Mu-ok, they didn’t feel sad because they knew that they eventually would see him again someday as long as he stayed in Jianghu.

“So, from now on, Mu-ok will be affiliated with the Silver Lotus Society?”

“That seems likely.”

“It’ll be a tough gate to open.”

“Still, it’s the path he chose.”

“Indeed…”

Do Yeonsan nodded his head again.

Joining the Silver Lotus Society now meant almost certainly fighting on the front lines of the great Jianghu conflict.

There was no way they would immediately trust a newcomer.

Even if he was the savior who had obtained a boat for a key figure of the Silver Lotus Society.

The Silver Lotus Society and its supporting factions surely would want to test Chae Mu-ok.

And there was only one way for a martial artist to prove himself.

That was to demonstrate his martial prowess and ability on the battlefield.

An unknown warrior like Chae Mu-ok would likely be deployed to the front lines.

If he survives, he will gain great fame, and if not, he will be forgotten and fade away in obscurity.

That was the path he had chosen, after all.

Since he had already chosen it, there was no reason for those who remained to criticize.

Just then, Hong Ye-seol came down to the dining area.

“Why is the atmosphere so serious?”

Hong Ye-seol sat down next to Pyo-wol as if it was only natural.

“Brother Mu-ok has left.”

“Oh, that–”

At Nam Shin-woo’s answer, Hong Ye-seol nodded her head as if she had just realized.

She too had been informed by the Elder Assassin.

“But he left safely, right?”

“Yes!”

“Then that’s good enough!”

“True!”

Nam Shin-woo also agreed with her view.

It’s not uncommon for people to form new connections and part ways while traveling in Jianghu.

Not everyone can always be well, and it’s extremely rare to accompany someone one meets to the very end.

Chae Mu-ok was no different.

Their paths were originally different.

Now that their time together had ended, all they could do was wish him well.

The six of them ate as usual.

The horse-ferry boat would soon depart.

They needed to finish their meal quickly and load the horses and carriage onto the boat.

If they missed the boat today, they would have to wait another whole day. So they had to hurry and finish their preparations.

Just as they were in the middle of their meal—

Bang!

Suddenly, the door of the guest house was slammed open, someone had barged in.

The woman who entered and looked around the interior with cold eyes was Lee Chu-soo.

Behind her were the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms and the Blood Rakshasa.

Lee Chu-soo walked straight towards the table where Pyo-wol and his party were eating.

Do Yeonsan lifted his head to look at her.

“What’s the matter?”

“One is missing.”

“What do you mean?”

“There was one more person with you yesterday, right?”

“Pardon?”

“There were seven of you yesterday, but today there are only six. Where did the other one go?”

Do Yeonsan frowned.

Lee Chu-soo’s words were crossing a line.

Do Yeonsan put down his chopsticks and said,

“He left for some business.”

“Where to?”

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?”

At Do Yeonsan’s response, Lee Chu-soo’s eyes turned fierce. However, the expression on Do Yeonsan’s face, who was facing her, remained very relaxed.

Do Yeonsan shrugged his shoulders.

“I said I don’t know.”

“How can you not know?”

“One can be ignorant.”

“You dare make fun of me?”

Bang!

Lee Chu-soo slammed her palm onto the table. Her action caused the food on the table to be scattered in all directions.

Do Yeonsan’s eyes immediately changed.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

“You’d better not try to deceive me. Where is he? The guy who was with you yesterday. If you don’t tell me, I will have everyone here sent to the Golden Heaven Society.”

“What right do you have to threaten and send us away?”

“You saw me yesterday so you should know. I am Lee Chu-soo, the leader of the Blood Rakshasa. I have enough qualifications and status to do so.”

“I’ve never heard that the Blood Rakshasa has the right to detain innocent people.”

“Whether you acknowledge it or not is irrelevant. The Blood Rakshasa certainly has that authority.”

Lee Chu-soo was confident.

No, more than confident, she was arrogant.

The problem was that she had the capability to back it up.

As Lee Chu-soo raised her voice, the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms and the Blood Rakshasa behind her emitted a murderous aura.

“Damn it!”

“What the hell?”

“Let’s get out of here!”

The other guests, dining at the time, panicked and ran outside.

They had witnessed the brutality of Lee Chu-soo and the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms the previous night, so their fear was immense.

Fortunately, the Blood Rakshasa did not stop or catch the other guests.

A cold smile spread on Lee Chu-soo’s lips.

It was better for her that the other guests were gone.

Even if the Blood Rakshasa and Lee Chu-soo could behave as they pleased, if their notoriety became too great, they could be restrained by the Golden Heaven Society.

Lee Chu-soo plopped down at the table and spoke,

“Someone helped the man we were chasing escape last night, and I believe the helper was someone who dined here.”

“Do you have any proof?”

“Proof? Huh!”

Just as Lee Chu-soo’s smile grew even wider—

“Get your ass out of here.”

Hong Ye-seol, who had been quiet until now, spoke up.

“What?”

“I said get your filthy ass off the table. How dare you sprawl your big ass over this sacred dining table. With a behind as saggy as a buffalo’s—”

“What?”

“Didn’t you hear me? Not only are you ugly but you’re also deaf.”

“Heuk!”

In an instant, Lee Chu-soo’s face turned red.

Her face, now fiery red as if about to explode, was filled with shame and anger.

“Who do you think you are?”

“The Blood Rakshasa? Not even funny. You’re just a bunch of average women banding together causing trouble. Think you’re something special just because you’re together? Without the backing of the Golden Heaven Society, you’re nothing.”

“How dare you insult the Golden Heaven Society?”

“I’m not insulting the Golden Heaven Society. I’m insulting you and the bitches who follow you.”

Hong Ye-seol pointed her finger at Lee Chu-soo and the Blood Rakshasa.

The Blood Rakshasa instantly bristled.

“What?”

“This woman must have a death wish—!”

Among them, the most infuriated were the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms, Jang Hwa-young and Bing Ha-ran.

They strode towards Hong Ye-seol menacingly.

Lee Chu-soo did not attempt to stop the two women.

She was just as angry as they were.

She couldn’t just let Hong Ye-seol get away with her insolence. After all, her prestige was at stake.

She just decided to leave Hong Ye-seol’s fate to the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms, while she focused her attention on Do Yeonsan. He had been just as impudent as Hong Ye-seol.

“You–”

Just then, her eyes caught Pyo-wol, who was quietly continuing his meal.

While Hong Ye-seol was facing off against the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms, and Do Yeonsan and the children were sending hostile glances her way, Pyo-wol and the Elder Assassin continued eating without a care in the world.

It was as if the current commotion around them was none of their concern.

It was as if he and the Elder Assassin existed in a world apart from the rest.

One person in particular stood out, drawing her attention.

At first, she didn’t even give him a second glance, but once she noticed him, she couldn’t look away.

His face was ordinary.

That was because Pyo-wol had altered his appearance using the face-changing art. However, the unique aura emanating from him made it impossible for her to divert her gaze.

‘He is the leader of this group.’

It was a woman’s intuition.

She instinctively sensed him to be the leader of the group.

Lee Chu-soo addressed Pyo-wol.

“What’s your name?”

“Why do you ask?”

“Isn’t exchanging names first a matter of etiquette when engaging in a conversation?”

“A person who knows manners wouldn’t start a dispute without revealing their own identity first, would they?”

“You were here yesterday, weren’t you? Then you should know who I am.”

“There’s a difference between that and formally introducing yourself. You might have learned martial arts from a good master, but it seems they forgot to teach you manners.”

“You…!”

Caught off guard by Pyo-wol’s unexpected sharp tongue, Lee Chu-soo was at a loss for words. But it was only for a moment, her face soon morphed into a sinister expression.

“How dare you insult my master.”

“Speak correctly. It’s you who brought shame to your master’s face.”

“Hng! I won’t forgive you–!”

Lee Chu-soo’s anger exploded.

Without hesitation, she stretched out her white hand towards Pyo-wol.

It was her signature technique, the Heavenly Net Capturing Hand.1

It was an ultimate technique said to be so formidable that once it was unleashed, not even the heavens could escape it.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!

Her hands seemed to multiply into dozens, all striking towards Pyo-wol.

At that moment, the Elder Assassin clicked his tongue.

“Tsk!”

He had intended to be patient and look the other way, but Lee Chu-soo’s actions had crossed the line by far.

The Elder Assassin stretched out his hand in response.

“This old man doesn’t know his place—”

Lee Chu-soo’s eyebrows shot up to the sky.

She concentrated more power into her hand.

Her plan was to break the Elder Assassin’s fingers in one swift move.

Crack!

As their hands collided in the air, a chilling sound of bones breaking echoed. Someone’s fingers had snapped.

“AAHHH!”

The one who screamed was Lee Chu-soo.

All the fingers of her left hand which got entangled with the Elder Assassin’s, were completely broken.

Seeing her own grotesquely twisted hand, Lee Chu-soo’s eyes flipped white with pain.

She had inflicted pain on others countless times, but this was her first time experiencing it herself.

“Leader!”

“You crazy old man—!”

Seeing Lee Chu-soo’s fingers break, the Blood Rakshasa rushed over in a frenzy.

“Hoo!”

“So it has come to this in the end.”

“Even dogs shouldn’t be bothered when they’re eating.”2

Do Yeonsan, Eunyo, and Nam Shin-woo stood up from their seats.

Hong Ye-seol was already exchanging moves with the Ice and Flame Twin Blossoms.

A fight was inevitable.

Do Yeonsan said,

“Let’s settle this before we get on the ship.”

“Okay!”

“Got it.”

Eunyo and Nam Shin-woo replied as they lunged at the Blood Rakshasa at the same time.

Do Yeonsan utilized the martial arts he had inherited from the Ghost King, Eunyo employed the secret techniques of the Xiaoleiyin Temple, and finally, Nam Shin-woo unleashed the skills he learned from the Wind Saint.

Although different in type, the martial arts mastered by the three were all supreme techniques known to be one of the best throughout Jianghu.

Even if the Blood Rakshasha were said to be infamous for their notorious reputation, their martial arts skills paled in comparison to the three.

Boom!

The three of them swept through the Blood Rakshasha like a raging tidal wave.

“Aaagh!”

“Ugh!”

Screams of the Blood Rakshasa echoed in the wake of their assault.
